Effective September 1, 2006, and except for those individuals exempted under the Texas Occupations Code, only persons or corporations licensed by the Harrison County Bail Bond Board may post bail bonds in Harrison County. A license must be obtained before the Sheriff’s Office will accept any bond.
Approval of a license application requires a personal appearance before the Bail Bond Board by each individual applicant, as well as by each agent of any corporation applying for a corporate license. The fully completed application, all required supporting documents, and the non-refundable $500 application fee must be filed with the Board Secretary no fewer than ten days before the Board meeting at which the application will be considered.
Below are links to the forms necessary to apply for a Harrison County bail bond license. To download a form, right-click the link and select “Save as.” Save the file to your computer and print as many copies as needed. The forms also include a request to place a matter on the Board’s agenda; this request must be filed no later than noon on the last Friday before a scheduled Board meeting.
The Board Secretary is Heather Henigan, County Clerk, whose office is located on the second floor of the Harrison County Courthouse. The office phone number is 903-935-8403.
